Remove the bandage after 2-4 hours when you’re in a clean place to wash your tattoo properly.
Wash your hands with soap first, then gently wash the tattoo on the shower with warm water and neutral soap. Avoid direct/strong shower on the tattoo. Take special care to gently remove any excess ointment, ink, or dried blood, only lightly passing your washed hand on the tattoo. Do not scrub or pick the tattoo.
Dry around the tattoo and try to just blot it lightly with a clean dry paper towel, then bin it.
Allow 15 minutes to air dry and apply a small amount of fragrance free, colourless lotion or aftercare product recommended by your artist or one that you are used to from previous tattoos. Rub a small amount to leave a thin layer, like sunscreen.
Repeat the last steps and wash your tattoo 3 to 5 times for the first 24 hours.
After the first 24 hours wash your tattoo a minimum of 3 times a day, always with extreme care. Continue to wash gently and to apply aftercare product for around 2 weeks until fully healed.
Do not scratch or pick your tattoo. It is a normal process for the skin to get dry and flake during the healing. Do not submerge in water or swim. Do not expose to direct sunlight. After healed used sunscreen to give extra protection when exposed to the sun.
If you got any questions or concerns please contact your artist.
In case of prolonged redness or signs of infection contact your GP or A&E immediately.
